This is my friend's vacation home near Quillota, where we stayed for a week.
We spent a beautiful, sunny day at the beach
in Zapallar,
only 45 minutes from my friend's house.
We also took a day trip to the lovely, old
port city of Valparaiso,
where many cruise ships dock.
Valparaiso is built on several steep hills and has lots of these colorful, old homes.
This is a view from one of the hills overlooking Valparaiso and the harbor.
These are my traveling companions and former
English as a Second Language tutoring
students from Chile, Colombia, and Puerto Rico. We had an unforgettable
trip,
and I enjoyed every minute! As they say in Chile, it was "la muerte" (to die
for)!
